Hopefully the unit I received was a unique quality control issue that slipped through the cracks, rather than one of a whole batch of defective units. So far I have not seen other reviews mentioning a similar problem, so it probably is just my bad luck. I carefully followed all the assembly instructions, only to find that no water flowed through the hose on the completed reel. After systematically disconnecting the hose and then fittings on the reel, I found that the blockage was in the brass swivel fitting that the feeder hose connects to. Watch my short video to see what I discovered. There is no possible way that water could flow through the hose reel as I received it. Of course I could have contacted Vevor’s support, either to get a replacement swivel fitting or to return the entire hose reel and get a new unit, but once I knew what the problem was it was much quicker and simpler to just fix it myself. After drilling a couple of holes in the swivel fitting I’m happy to say it works just fine. Aside from the fatal flaw in the swivel fitting, my overall impression is decidedly mixed. I like that everything is sturdy metal rather than plastic, and the brass fittings seem very solid. However, welds look only so-so, and the outer rings that hold the hose in place are not straight or parallel. When cranking the handle it turns quite smoothly, yet looks like it is drunk due to the crooked rings. The hose attachment point outside of the reel is also inconvenient, not allowing for any relatively thick, sturdy hose to feed between the spokes without kinking. While running the hose over the outer ring and onto the reel works, it is hardly an elegant solution. Basically, I was expecting better. I have other Vevor products which I find quite impressive for both function and value. This hose reel, not so much. It should work okay for me now that I fixed it, but both design and quality control are disappointing. I can only hope that its durability is better than the first impr

Something needs to change with how the hose hooks up to the reel. It kinks very badly.

The thing started rusting before I even got it mounted on the wall. It's all metal, which is nice, except for the mounts that connect the reel to the frame, those are plastic. It's heavy duty plastic, but it's also the most significant pressure point of the whole thing, and there's no way it's going to last. Worst of all is the design. The hose connects outside of the reel, which kinks the hose before you even start winding. The drum is also pretty small so I'm skeptical that even an elbow adapter will help much. I'm afraid I may have just wasted 90 bucks on this junk.

Does not work great. Not a great design the inlet where the feeder hose goes in will come apart and the whole thing will fall apart at times, no matter how tight you tighten things up. Also had to fasten the feeder hose to the wall to keep it from twisting up because of poor design and functionality I do not recommend buying. Also, you have to line the hose up just perfect to be able to get all the hose on it.

I bought this product because of the price. Well the old saying is , you get what you pay for, is true. Assembly was easy , but the fittings to the hose was not completed at factory. I had to modify it to how it should of came to me. Once I got it to work it still doesn't actually function properly. The fitting for the hose keeps unscrewing from the hose reel when reeling the hose in. This is my second product from vevor that is completely trash straight out the box. Sorry but not sorry it won't be a third time. Be cautious when buying vevor products. You get lucky then again you won't.

I purchased this reel as it is made of metal and can hold 00 ft of hose. The problem with it is the where your hose connects to the reel's water feed. The location for where you hose attaches is on the outside of where your hose wraps in the reel. This causes either a terrible kinking bend in your hose (which impedes the flow of water) or you have to loop it from the outside to over top of the reel's side wheel, which looks ridiculous. The only way to fix this is to purchase separate hard fittings to route the connection to be inside the reel, where it is supposed to be.
