I had a few smaller slicers before that are just too small and awkward to use with any efficiency. This slicer is very similar to the one I used to use doing food prep at the restaurant I worked at. I really like how this ones made. First of all, the all metal construction makes it very sturdy and durable. It's easy to take apart and clean. I breezed through pounds of potatoes, bell peppers, and onions so I could portion them to freeze. It was well worth the price. If you do any large quantities of food prep for home freezing, I highly recommend you get one.

We bought this in order to freeze french fries for quick frying right out of the freezer. It works just fine once you get the hand of remove this that and the other to change out the blades.
