As a live-in care worker I try to help clients with their dreams. One wanted to enjoy a firepit and enjoy the beautiful summer. We decided to try and use the pit to cook on. Being so large we needed a large stainless steel grill. After finding one that was not Stainless but could act as a helper for a stainless we found some 2 inch and a half pipes to drive into the floor of the pit to hold the Metal topper and then we put the new Stainless grill on top of it. Well things worked out great but i did get some slivers from the outside portion of the grill and would recommend customers use a file to smooth off edges. Its not a real problem to do and im sure it saved us some money. I am very happy with it but do I recommend using a heavy duty metal holder under the Grate. It held all the food and had fun cooking. The ability to fold it helps with storage and to add wood to the fire!
Can't open grill when you have food on it, but overall good buy.
The photo made me think i would be able to add wood while cooking food. This is not possible as the hinge is underneath the grill surface. But i can make it work and fold it and leave half the pit open and just add food on half the grill surface. Very sturdy and good quality. Overall, i'm happy with it!
I love this grill, it fits perfectly over top our 36'' cauldron we use for grilling. It is working swimmingly. The only complaint is the metal grate part (lace?) is flimsy, I would like it to be a couple mills thicker. I hope it holds up, I will try to report back in a year.
Works good. However when we put it down so the one side can be lifted to add more wood the support bars wne up on top.If we flip it so the support bars are on bottom it does not open to add wood
This grill grate fit our fire bit perfectly. It is neither harder nor easier to clean than its predecessor but it is infinitely easier to store. I wish the grate material was slightly thicker as that will affect how long it lasts. However, the grate has many more positives than negatives.
Bought this to fit over my tiki fire pit and turned into a barbecue grill when camping.Sturdy, doesn’t rust, easy to clean, the other ones on Amazon are junk. This one fits well at 31 inches in circumference. I
Perfect size for my burn barrel & LOVE the tiny holes. I’ve been using hardware cloth for years, so having a grate with handle is really nice. Only used it a few time, so we’ll see how it holds up - right now I’m a happy camper!
