I would say a shop essential to have
I came across this by accident and I'm glad I. did. I used it to change my transmission fluid on my truck. I ended up sucking out 90% of the fluid so when I dropped the pan it's wasn't a huge mess. I don't have a lift so that's why it's helpful. The suction is very good with minimal leaks. It feels like it will last a long time especially for the weekend warriors. I feel that it's pretty easy use and if not it comes with directions or you could just look online. I will definitely get more use of it for various other purposes. Definitely worth the price.

As always a great product for the price. The instructions are poor and should include better directions or photos of the unit in use (even better a video link). Nonetheless excellent value and performance. VIVA Vevor

Works great
I watched a video of a guy using a tool similar to this one to change his power steering fluid. I used it for the same job and it worked great. You can use this for any fluid change you may need to do on your machines. To use this with an air compressor you probably need at least a 20 gallon one. Not everyone has an air compressor and that is why I like that this also has the option to hand pump it for the vacuum. Anther nice thing about this is when pouring out the fluid it has small spout design to guide where it goes, not just a round hole which could cause it to not pour smoothly. The overall build quality of this is very nice. It feels like it is strong plastic that I don't have to worry about braking easily. This is a good tool to have for anyone that does maintenance on their machines.

Only have tested it out
Tested it out once I received. It appeared to work very well. Only used it to suck up about a pint of water. Oil other fluids will be thicker so make sure you have the pressure set. Right pressure on the canister is metric so if you are using PSI’s, make sure you don’t go over 115psi.

A must have for my boat!
Changing the oil just became so much easier with this oil extractor. You just run the tubing down the dipstick tube and suck all the oil out. Works great! No more mess. Recommended!

Good value topside oil changer
This topside oil changer is perfect for those that do not like crawling under cars and getting dirty. All you need to do is drive your car around until the oil is at operating temperature. Park the car, pull the dipstick, connect the various hoses to the device, then put the hose down the dipatick! Next, extend the foot support on the bottom and you can either start pumping away like a bicycle pump, or you can connect a compressor hose to the pressure fitting. I do it the manual way which is slower, but much quieter. Depending on how much oil you have in your engine, you should be done in 10-15 minutes. It can be done faster with an air compressor, but I have never used it in that manner. If you car has more than 6 quarts of oil, you will need to stop and empty the tank, then start again. You can simply disconnect the fitting to the device and pour the dirty oil into an old container or those oil change boxes. This is very easy to use and the design is good with lots of bracing on the container. All items are well made. The only things that could be improved on would be a holder for all the hoses, and a better shut off valve for the compressor fitting. This is a must have for any DIYer that has a car with a dipstick. There are even cars without dipsticks, that have an access port to use these.

It's bigger than I expected
There seems to be some disagreement among \"mechanics\" about whether it's better to drain the oil from the drain plug, or extract it with a pump like this. I have always removed the drain plug, but since my German car dealer uses a vacuum pump to remove the oil I decided to give it a try. It should work equally well on my 4WD. I have not had the opportunity to use this pump yet as my cars won't be due for an oil change for a few more months, so this review is based on my impression of the pump upon inspection. The pump is larger than expected, though it would have to be large to hold all of the oil from the average engine. It seems to be well made and includes all of the accessories and adapters needed to manually extract the oil via the dipstick tube. This should be a much cleaner process than draining oil into a pan, which always leaves at least a small mess on something. My expectation is that this pump will work exactly as advertised and that extraction with a pump will be a cleaner process than removing the drain plug. I will update this review if it does not live up to expectations. The review form asks me to rate Suction Power, ease of use, and quality of material. I don't think I can rate suction or ease of use as I have not used other pumps and so have no reference for the suction of this pump. Ease of use seems subjective - if you're mechanically inclined this pump should present no challenges. If you're not mechanically inclined, it may be more difficult to use. Quality of material seems to be very good. Five stars.

Good design
Overall works well. Found that the pumping function leaves a considerable amount (less than a quart) in the tank that can't be used without dumping it out, therefore plan for a little extra fluid used.

Super Happy with this Item.
My lat shop suction tool was a sort of modified grease gun with a hose on the end to suck things out. This too makes that seem completely useless. I love you can either use this manually with the pump. or can use with an air line for the more stubborn fluids to suck up. The first project I used this for was to remove old stale gas from my 4 wheeler, and poured it into my tractor to burn it up. Amazing how easy of a transfer this was. I love how you can just pull the hose and pour out of this tool. It's also really nice it came with several different sizes of hose too. I with I would have gotten my hands on a tool like this years ago!
