This unit works well if you follow the instructions provided . In saying that you need to know before purchasing this that it is strictly a LIGHT DUTY machine and should be used accordingly. I have not tried aluminum sheet yet ,but I suspect it may not be as good in that respect since aluminum requires possibly larger amounts of current.

I would have liked the arm's a bit longer other than that spot welder good

I'm very pleased with my spot. Welder.. The quality is good. It works very well and I found it much more useful than I expected. The only way the transaction could have been improved was that specifications provided by vivor were not at all helpful and I had to take a big risk that the device would work properly. In particular, the rating is given as 8 KVA which seems to be excessive for a domestic electric circuit in Australia. It took several exchanges of emails to clarify . The bottom line is that like that il the welder may take a large peak current when initially connected. It is not the current associated with welding but with the possible state of magnetization of the core. The result is that sometimes a domestic residual current protection device can trip. I have found this to be a minor but real inconvenience with a low-rated protection with a 20 amp residual current device I found there was no problem.
