It took me about an hour to setup. Watch your orientation. I provided two pictures to show orientation as the instructions are a little vague. Now I am learning Lightburn. Go to the Lightburn website and get a free 30 days. Watch their videos.

This engraver works well enough for cutting wood and engraving other materials. It's easy to assemble if you have any technical ability, but do take care to follow the instructions. You will need to play around with laser power settings, number of passes per line, and laser movement speed in order to nail down the right settings for your material. At only 5W of power with the diode, you won't be processing large volumes of material and some materials, like acrylic, will not play well with this machine. It's ideal for a hobbyist and is probably the best price you will find for such a machine.

It took me a while to get this product setup as the process is fairly intimidating. My brother is mechanically inclined and assisted me. I don't think I could have done it myself. We purchased LightBurn software (not included) as it came highly recommended and has a user friendly interface. The rotary tool is really cool as it allows you to engrave on cylindrical surfaces in addition to standard flat surfaces. We setup the engraver on a sturdy table in our basement near a window which opens easily. You will want to make sure you setup this product in a well ventilated area especially if you intend to use the engraver on items other than wood, to avoid potentially harmful fumes.

This diode laser arrived in a very professionally boxed package, was easy to build, and produces excellent engraving. Couldn’t be happier for the money.

Like a few other reviewers have mentioned, assembly was a little bit of a pain with just the included instructions, but once it's together, it works very nicely. This is my first engraving machine and I really like it so far. Doesn't take up too large of a space, and can be used on a wide variety of surfaces. Makes it easy to customize or brand almost anything you want.

I have been looking for a laser engraver and have not liked the prices. This was in my budget and WAS NOT A MISTAKE. I can do just about any project that i was wanting to do with the laser. It was easily put together and was up and engraving within a hour or so after assembly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone just getting into the hobby like myself.

I love this laser engraver, I love the price I got it for. What I don't love is that despite people saying how easy it is to set up straight out of the box, it isn't that easy. Not if you are new to engravers and not if you are not inclined to such things. The instructions are not clear enough that a novice will be able to just open the box and just go. There are little details that would need to be included for clarity and to ensure precision and accuracy and these are not present. I had to watch a few Youtube videos (most of which also assumed that you had prior engraver experience) and I had to also pull up pictures of the item on the internet to ensure I was positioning the pieces correctly. Once I got going however, the rest fell into place and it went well. My only other "issue" so far is working through the correct settings for different media. I am still testing different settings to get the results I am looking for as some of the preinstalled settings are not working for me. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and I would recommend this laser engraver.

Really good quality, does a nice job. I want to purchase a router next, these products are high quality for a reasonable price.

Laser operates very well and it's sized perfectly to fit in most universal enclosures. Ran with lasergrbl and have had zero problems connecting or operating. My one complaint would be a learning curve on the out of box set up process. The instruction manual I re eived was for a different model than what I reviewed and if not for a decent amount of engineering experience would have been a nightmare.
