Rusty Gilpin Works great, after you fix the Bad Weld!!!

The tool is made of strong steel, but as others have mentioned, mine has a bad weld on the screw top plate. I opted to weld mine rather than send it back because I felt the tool would work great with the proper weld. And it does, which is why I still gave it 4 stars. It looks like the manufacturer uses a friction type weld during the construction process and the weld is simply not durable. So, it you’re handy with a welder, you can make this tool work great and it will last a long time. Of course I would have been livid if I didn’t have a welder and this review would have been very different…

Prob but for commercial use but for me a weekend warrior it worked great pulling bearings repeatedly off my carrier. Would buy again.

I bought this because i mistakenly thought it would work on a Ford 10.5. It does work on the carrier bearings, but does not pull the pinion on a 10.5. I am also working on a Dana 60, and it works well on the Dana.

Clamshells were too small to get the pinion and carrier bearings off for my Jeep JK Rubicon Dana 44 axle. Get the one with 3 clamshells. I believe the white clam is the right size. I ended up grinding the black clamshell just enough to fit the bearings properly and now it works great.

Says the tool services Dana 80 axle, but not without modifications - the tool doesn't slide down the full length of the shaft, but this little trick fixes that issue - should come with these modifications from the factory
