It appears that you will have to by another set of metal forms to make smaller buttons.
It appears that you will have to by another set of metal forms to make smaller buttons. I would prefer if one set of forms could accomodate different size buttons.

Wonderful for making small buttons
I bought this for my business, with the intent of making little buttons to give out at trade shows, but we've used it quite a bit for personal projects as well. My three-year-old colored pages that we used to make fridge-magnets (snip off the pin, glue on a magnet) for his grandparents, and we've had a blast making buttons for all occasions. They're sturdy quality and make a great give-away for the business. Couldn't be happier.

Great all-in-one package for the price!
We were looking for a machine to make goodies to hide/trade/giveaway in a local "spread kindness" rock painting group. Didn't want to spend a fortune, but needed something that wouldn't fall apart or break within the first few uses. This machine is GREAT! After having used it many times and producing a couple hundred buttons, I feel better about leaving an honest review.First off, the hole punch diameter for the 1.25" button is actually 1.629" in diameter -- which is nearly impossible to find - so we simply cut with scissors. The enclosed cutter is worthless. We used our household inkjet printer on tradition printer paper and it worked fabulously! We used a dab of glue stick to hold the paper in place on the metal to ensure that the image was stayed centered on the metal base. The pin backs are made from plastic and you have to be careful to snap off any "extra" bits from the casting process or your button will get stuck in the machine. Also be careful that you're only using ONE mylar cover -- as they tend to stick together and using more than one will ruin the button as well. In making over 250 buttons -- we've only experienced approximately 3-5% defect (either our own fault, or just didn't come together because of small flaws in materials). I'd say that's not too bad. No matter, I'm extremely happy with the investment!

Super happy with my button maker
I'm really happy with this purchase. I had used a more expensive button maker before, and this one works exactly the same. It can take a little practice at first, but it's super simple - any mistakes that happen now are because I'm going too quickly and not paying attention to what I'm doing. I've made hundreds of gorgeous buttons using this, and would definitely recommend it.

Fair enough buy, but the cutter is rubbish!
Didnt have to wait too long. Easy to put together, but those were some dirty allen keys provided! My 8yo daughter could work it on her own once we figured it out. The edges of the base are a little sharp, so just be careful when you're starting out. It still requires some counterbalance when pressing down the lever, but it's fairly straightforward to use otherwise. The cutter it came with is absolute rubbish though. Bought a separate 1.25" paper puncher which was waaaayyyy worth its minimal cost.Works well with cute gift wrapping paper, and "angpow" aka Chinese red packets. (We were on an eco-friendly drive and these were all donated.) The girls at the school carnival really really loved how they could customise their own button badges. Even the parent volunteers loved how easy it was! Some of the hooks and the metal discs were slightly faulty but out of our 1000pcs, those were a minimum. Maybe 5 to 10?The other small thing to note is that you should align your hook (the back part of the badge) such that the design on the button badge sits in the correct direction, so that when it's pinned on, it's not upside down or at some odd angle.

Much simpler than I expected!
I purchased this item to make buttons to promote a fall series in my Church. I had never used one before, but I was quickly on the way to completing my project.

Easy to use!
Definitely, the easiest machine to use! All the pieces look overwhelming at first but the instructions were clear and I had it set up in 3 minutes. The quality of the buttons are very good and people love 'em!
