Works very well dose leak propane around ports so when you put it together put high temp sealer on it other than that is awesome to have in the shop

I did put refractory on the insulation before firing it. I bought the dual burner to make sure it could get the job done so it's first test was copper. If it can melt copper enough to pour easily. It can melt about anything. And it did. The 12k crucible in not a fan of. Which takes nothing away from the unit. It's just a massive, heavy crucible, that will be very intimidating if it's your first time. The thing will look like the sun. Wear very thick welding gloves and no exposed skin. I found an old welding helmet and took the dark plate out and left the clear. This is a major help when you stand over the opening to look in. It open it to pour. Just put sunglasses on under. Otherwise that 12k crucible is gonna feel like it's melting your face. I actually throttled back the propane and didn't need it full blast for a huge crucible and copper. So it will get the job done. I ended up buying a 2k crucible and a good firebrick to keep the smaller crucible up into the flame. Much better manageable deal that way. And melted faster. The 2 burner unit will go through propane. Kind of his without saying and common sense. 2 burners=twice the propane. It is nice you can shut one off while using the other. Or start out with one until everything nice and toasty. Then fire the other and off you go. The construction isn't bad. After all for the price you're not going to get 3/16 stainless steel unit. But overall gets the job done and so far so good.

4.5/5 stars, really good at keeping heat but after 7-10 it starts warping with higher heat temps, I also noticed too much airflow here and there and it stutters. really good for melting basic metals tho.

My husband loved this. Was a gift.

It worked well for forge welding some steel and was easy to set up and use. I never tried the crucible but used a steel pipe instead. The valves did start leaking after the first use and if you shut them off before you shut off the tank valve they will catch fire and sometimes randomly catch fire while using. Other than the valves it seems to work very well.

Great bit of equipment worth every cent. heats up very quickly keep an eye out not to leave you clay crucibles in for to long they will fail
