Making dice
My machine was missing the water pump on delivery. I contacted customer service and they were helpful with getting me the missing part, but it did require several messages back and forth to get things right. Unfortunately the messages took a day to respond to each because of the country/time gap so that pump didn't get here for almost 3 weeks making the machine unusable until then. However, once all of that was straightened out I was able to play with some stones to figure out how to use it. DEFINITELY WATCH SOME VIDEOS. YouTube was a huge help, not a machine issue, but just a learning curve issue. The machine itself is great! I have purchased a few different plates and other upgrades to assist with dice making. I haven't had any issues with adding any of them. Would definitely recommend!!

Excellent Starting Machine for the price but has flaws
Considering the price that I paid and compared to other machines available in the market this is a deal..period. I am an early learner of faceting and this machine requires some modifications. I watched YouTube video and got some pointer. The modification that I did: - Filling the mast base to make it to perpendicular to the platform - Added a digital angle protractor to hit the angle more perfectly The major drawback of this machine is that it's not possible to cut the "griddle" of the stone if the rough is less than 12mm. To cut any size of stone, any of the following modification is needed: - The arbor needs to be extended around 1.5 inch to 2 inch OR - Remove/shave off 2 inch beneath the mast base. Here is the stone that I cut with this machine: https://www.instagram.com/p/C2u2WAuLQaE/

Used to polish rocks
Have not tried the faceting part yet. But works well to polish stones with a set of diamond disks that were purchased separately. Have had it a month and am very happy with it.

A whole new world opens up.....
It showed up missing parts, other parts were never stable, the water system fails often, The angle pointer sucks, the splash guard doesn't protect you from splashes and I had to do a lot of trouble shooting to get the quill at 90 degrees. Yes all the criticisms are true. BUT.... The cost of the next machine up --$2000+ I just don't have that. I have learned alot on this machine without breaking the bank. I have included a few photos of my efforts. I am GLAD I got this! A whole new world has opened up! just 4 stars because I wish it was better.

Awesome machine
I've used other big brands and this machine stands up to them with no problem at all.i many use the machine for making cabochon and flat back stones. I definitely recommend this machine for anyone.

Great Value!
I just joined a Gem and Rock Club, and learned how to use a different machine. I bought this "cheapy" to use at home and so far: AWESOME! The 0.05mm Mast marking and adjust is great. The Speed adjust, water supply, and machine seem pretty solid (I did have to put the control board together as it was damaged in shipping, but it was just "loose"). I bought 320, 600, and 2k lap disks because I'm starting on Quartz (1k is really slow). It doesn't have a "cheater", but it does have a hard stop. Like the previous reviews, fine (0.1 or 0.01 degree) angles are not really possible (without a great eye). Honestly, from what I can tell, that is part of the art of it anyway. Quite pleased with my first quartz stone finished at 2000 grit (will get 3k anyway, for ruby). Removable plug for 90 degree girdle grinding is great, as is the 30 degree dob holder for doing the perpendicular table cut (at 60 degrees on the mast). Water adjuster could be finer (is pretty hard to get drops instead of stream). For the price: 1000% satisfied. I don't know what more a $3000 machine would do (besides the fine angle control).
