Time Used: 3 Months ​ ​This is a very good router that I have been using for three months now. For its intended audience, it has more than good enough power for a DIYer. Considering the price, it is a 5-star router with the optional plunge base and is definitely recommended to enter the router world. ​The tool comes with a good number of accessories, and the dedicated plunge base is also very handy and works well. The core performance of the router itself is stellar for the price. ​ The Flaws: ​The primary problem lies with the quality of the peripherals: the accessories are not good. For example, the edge guide is not straight and is pretty much useless for achieving any precise work. Additionally, the integrated measurement markers are not accurate, meaning precise depth setting must be done with caution. ​Final Recommendation ​Despite the issues with the accessories and inaccurate markers, the performance and value offered by the main unit are outstanding. Considering the price, this router earns a 5-star rating and is highly recommended as an entry-level tool.

$89 delivered… After taking back a single use Ozito and swapping for a $100 ryobi trim router only for the acrylic shroud to ‘weld’ itself against the plastic trimmer body. Destructive removal being the only outcome and no ‘spare’ parts offered by the manufacturer I took a punt on this. I can’t justify the spend on professional brands and being locked into the battery eco system. Well I’m delighted. A machined chassis and cast and machined depth shroud. No melting of plastic. Variable speed and slow start and clamp rather than screw tightening It’s already ahead. Criticisms - the casting zero marks are not aligned for the metric and imperial side of the gauge so the casting could do with a bit more finish. The collet is tight. This may be a good thing long term….. and that’s it. And it came with a set of router bits. They may turn out to be made of chocolate but it all helps.
