We installed 3 sets of these handrail on our new outdoor redwood steps. We bought 2 sets of 7’ and one set of 4’. (Steps in 3 parts with landings in between - not one continuous length.) When the bannisters were in the box outside with just the box open at the top, when the sun shone on them all day they were incredibly hot and we could not touch them. After much correspondence with Vevor and many conversations with paint specialists, etc and nothing that anyone suggested would work to protect our hands in the blaring sun. So, we decided to install them and see if there were some kind of covers we could put on. Well, as it turned out, the bannisters heated up but not to the point you can’t touch them so all that research was for naught. Putting them on the wooden steps however was a really big challenge. There were no holes made. Vevor said the reason why was the holes could be in the wrong place. It is not easy to make holes in a small, round metal object - from the right drill bits and right drill to the awkwardness to hold it still. If you have access to a workshop with clamps, it would be much easier but still a challenge. We didn’t have a workshop set up so it took one annoyed person to hold each bannister down and another annoyed to drill. It is important to wear gloves, eye protectors and ear muffs/noise cancelling headset. If you can live through al that then the next step is attaching the brackets using these lovely, new holes. Again, not an easy trick bc the brackets need to be perfectly lined up for when you attach it to the surface. Phew. We did it but not w/o losing some minds in the process. So they are installed, look beautiful, strong and not too hot to touch! Vevor, I would like to suggest 2 things. 1. We had to buy 7’ lengths when we really needed 8’. You should have 8’ lengths. 2. Thinking about that there were no holes drilled, I realized you could have holes every (ie) 6 inches. I have seen that on many other products. It would solve drilling holds and frustrating of lining up the brackets on the customer’s end. I tried to include photos but the message was they weren’t the right format, which they were.

Nice quality rail

I purchased for a secondary stairway in a custom build we were doing. I honestly did not have high hopes, but it didn't need to be a show piece. This rail is better than I expected. Sturdy, well made, joints are less obvious than I feared they would be (keep in mind that these rails come in about 4 foot sections). Overall, I was impressed and will order again if such a situation arrises.

I didn't realise that the handrail came in two pieces, 910mm long. It caused me some problems because it needed to be 1000mm long. Apart from that, I would highly recommend it. Excellent value for money.
