Didn’t last

The swivel is leaking and it doesn’t reel in smoothly. Purchased 1 year replacement when I bought it 7 months ago. Waiting on correspondence to see how customer service handles it.

Needs an anti reverse switch

Good product for the money. However, there’s no anti reverse switch to hold the wheel in place once the hose is reeled all the way back in…thus unwinding itself

Did not work until I fixed it, then only a so-so product

Hopefully the unit I received was a unique quality control issue that slipped through the cracks, rather than one of a whole batch of defective units. So far I have not seen other reviews mentioning a similar problem, so it probably is just my bad luck. I carefully followed all the assembly instructions, only to find that no water flowed through the hose on the completed reel. After systematically disconnecting the hose and then fittings on the reel, I found that the blockage was in the brass swivel fitting that the feeder hose connects to. Watch my short video to see what I discovered. There is no possible way that water could flow through the hose reel as I received it. Of course I could have contacted Vevor’s support, either to get a replacement swivel fitting or to return the entire hose reel and get a new unit, but once I knew what the problem was it was much quicker and simpler to just fix it myself. After drilling a couple of holes in the swivel fitting I’m happy to say it works just fine. Aside from the fatal flaw in the swivel fitting, my overall impression is decidedly mixed. I like that everything is sturdy metal rather than plastic, and the brass fittings seem very solid. However, welds look only so-so, and the outer rings that hold the hose in place are not straight or parallel. When cranking the handle it turns quite smoothly, yet looks like it is drunk due to the crooked rings. The hose attachment point outside of the reel is also inconvenient, not allowing for any relatively thick, sturdy hose to feed between the spokes without kinking. While running the hose over the outer ring and onto the reel works, it is hardly an elegant solution. Basically, I was expecting better. I have other Vevor products which I find quite impressive for both function and value. This hose reel, not so much. It should work okay for me now that I fixed it, but both design and quality control are disappointing. I can only hope that its durability is better than the first impr

It's nice but there's a design flaw
45.7 m
The reel is actually very nice and we like it. The design flaw is the hole in the hose guide is too small for the hoses that Vevor sells. Both ends of the Vevor hoses do not fit in the hole for the guide and you can't remove it or loosen it to fit. The only thing I can think of is to cut it, run the hose through it and then repair it. See the attached pictures, the ends of the hoses have those large "grasps" and they don't fit through the hose guide. Everything else is nice and you think someone would have thought of that. If you want to buy one of these, don't hesitate, just purchase regular hoses that don't have those large "grasps" on them.

Something needs to change with how the hose hooks up to the reel. It kinks very badly.

Poor design and mediocre quality
61 m
The thing started rusting before I even got it mounted on the wall. It's all metal, which is nice, except for the mounts that connect the reel to the frame, those are plastic. It's heavy duty plastic, but it's also the most significant pressure point of the whole thing, and there's no way it's going to last.
Worst of all is the design. The hose connects outside of the reel, which kinks the hose before you even start winding. The drum is also pretty small so I'm skeptical that even an elbow adapter will help much. I'm afraid I may have just wasted 90 bucks on this junk.

Poor manufacturing quality

I bought 3 of these for around my house. 1 of them had the bushings circles welded on so bad the drum wouldn’t even turn without the frame flexing back and forth. The other 2 units still worked, but almost all the threads were press fit in crooked and very difficult to thread in the bolts without stripping.
Also there are no washers for the bolts, why?!
One other annoying thing is the basket doesn’t mount correctly because the bolts that hold it protrude out the back and would cause the whole thing to not sit flush against the wall. Not very happy with this product, but since I already mounted them I’ll just keep them.

Hose reel

It works as it should. Was pretty easy to assemble.
Not sure how it will hold up. When I was assembling the unit I noticed one of the side wheels was bent out of shape and the welds looked a bit week. Also you will want to use your own anchors to fasten to the wall.

It's ok

It is not as strong as it claims to be; we'll see how it holds up against corrosion.
