How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
Our overall rating is not a simple average. We prioritize authentic, trustworthy reviews and filter out duplicates or invalid content before calculating the final score. This helps ensure the rating truly reflects real customer experiences.

Wind noise is very loud at 45 MPH and above. I wrapped electrical tape around the top of each post thinking that would help but it did not. Next step is to apply duck tape to cover the groves in the rails and post, if this helps I will remove the tape and fill the groves with caulking.

Good value
Sketchy directions but if you enlarge the picture it's much better. I wish they would've included some lock tight. I'll have to keep checking the brackets for tightness. Otherwise the rack is sturdy. ⁰

The design of the rack is well thought out such as the aluminum extrusion accommodating multiple assembly procedures with relative ease. The clamp-on mounting is a great feature as it simplifies removal of the racks if required.
the rear rack is too high and should be lower by about 15 cm to make it easier to load long items.

Assembly Directions need improvement - helpful tips
The unit seems like it will be suitable for kayak transportation. The assembly directions need improvement. A couple simple additions would help; 1. Note that the top slot of the horizontal crossbar has scalloped out (wider) areas to allow the button head screw to be recessed. 2. After assembling the horizontal crossbar, turn it upside down and allow gravity to help you insert the button head screws. Assemble the verticals to the horizontals, keeping the screws loose enough to allow the vertical supporting posts to slide while you adjust it for the width of your truck. 3. I used blue (removable) loctite to ensure the screws don't come loose from vibration. Finally, it helps to have a longer allen wrench than the one furnished- it gets your hand further away from the angled member while tightening screws. Use anything that fits to line up the hole the holes while you insert the first screw. (My Dodge had about 5-3/4" protruding outboard of the verticals). Hopefully, these 2 pieces of advice will save you some time and trouble.

Ridgeline Owner
Overall, this is a very good product - especially for the price. If you happen to have a Honda Ridgeline, the clamps supplied won't fit your bed rails, so you will have to find a different way to mount it. I installed some strut channels on the sides of my truck bed (easy, due to existing mouting bolts) to which I bolted some angle brackets which the rack base bolts onto quite securely. Another slight problem is that racks whistle fairly loudly at highway speed, but it's only really noticeable with your windows or the sunroof open. The whistling is caused by the shape of the rack bar, but there's a product available which breaks up the wind flowing over them and supposedly makes them much quieter.

Programmer with a wrench
I am not not the most handy of men but I was able to install this rack easily. It does leave a threaded end upright and exposed. I am going to use a glue gun to cover it. If it came with covers for that, I would give a perfect score.

Mr
The product is worth the money. Your customer service has got to be the worst I've ever had to deal with, because of that I would rather go somewhere else, pay a few dollars more and not have to deal with you again.

Can’t complain for the price
Overall quality of rack and J Bolts is pretty good. My only complaint is the set screws that are used to hold the rack together. They are already rusting after 2 weeks and there is no way to face them toward the cab with the pieces given. Even if I could put them on the other side to hide them I’d be okay with that. I’m gonna have to go get some that won’t rust.
