It's not easy to find a set of dies at a reasonable price. Ordered set for occasional residential use and they have performed very well. Kept blades and pipe well oiled and so far they show no wear.

I bought this to thread some black iron pipe used for natural gas lines in a home I was working on. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money and planned on only needing it for 4-5 applications. However, the work created many other leaks in the old oakum seals from who knows how long ago and I ended up having to rebuild nearly the entire line. Hence, this cheap-o tool (

I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on something I’d use once every 2 years, I lubed them up heavy before and during use and they cut great! Saved me from having to pay someone to custom cut me a piece of pipe. I would see where these don’t hold up under frequent use.

The pipe threader worked perfectly. I needed to thread some 3/4” pipes for making pipe clamps. Very happy with this purchase.

This kit cost about the same as a rental for the day. I needed several shorter lengths of pipe for a hanging shelf and it cost so much less to buy this and a 10ft length of pipe than buying several of the shorter pieces. Keep in mind you’ll need a vise and a lot of cutting oil (do not forget the cutting oil!)

I don’t know why it took me this long to buy one. I always end up buying pipe that’s the right size and it’s always using couplers and extensions when I could’ve just bought this I did get sent to out by accident, but it’s all right eventually y’all use the other one.
