this light weight unit is the perfect backpack assessory for hiking into the gold country and setting up in the shallows and going to work prospecting for that shiny looking stuff. Works as designed.

The unit is well made. A little bit tricky to put together but not a problem. Some of the aluminum edges felt a little rough but also not a problem. Overall very nice.

Have used this river sluice a number of times now and it has held up well. The fact that it folds is a huge help when hiking to the gold and it will fit in any normal backpack. The sluice seems to catch the gold well - a lot sticks in the black mat at the front, which is ideal. Anything that gets by the matting gets stuck in the miners moss and carpet. Ruffle system works fine too. Great value, in my opinion.

Spent 4 hours in the rain with this baby. Light and compact. It did the job. Lots of fine gold I probably would of not seen if I was using a pan
