Lots of torque if it grabs a root it well break your wrist .but bet a manual post hole digger all day long..

I love this auger! It works perfectly and saves a lot of time.

Recently purchased the 52CC auger with the 150mm & 250mm auger bits to chew through some clay in preparation for laying concrete slabs. I'm pleased to say the machine was very good at drilling in to the firm clay using the 150mm bit, as long as you are fit and heavy enough to cope with the torque while it digs down, it does the job nicely. I also tried drilling into some very soft sandstone clay, which the machine was capable of doing, but the tsak was very slow and was wearing down the auger bit cutting teeth; not what it was designed to handle, but showed it could if you want to by anew auger bit every few weeks.

So glad i purchased this and it was solid especially for the price. It also was very easy to start. Tim
