Very strong and built to last

The vise is fairly sturdy, the jaws are hardened steel and they stay parallel through the entire length of travel. I am using this on my WEN milling machine, and so far, it has stayed fastened tight to the table through several small jobs. The height of this vise does reduce my drilling capacity by a bit, so I have it on the end of my table instead of in the middle, so I still have room to use T-Slot Clamps in case I need it. The two things I wish this had was a good detente to lock the vise in the 90, 60, and 45 positions when I am rotating it about its base, and a flat edge for me to reference against the milling table. Other than that, very good for the money. Will continue using.

Works excellent, holds great, be careful the edges are sharp as razors.

For a home shop this vice is well worth the price. It is accurate and well made. Only thing is the edges could be stoned before use since some are sharp.

Really good. Turned out to be just a little too big for my mill but very impressed with the quality. My only complaint is the mounting bolts need a plate under the nut since the nut will drop into the cut-out when tightened. Recommended!

I had the idea this 6" vise was 14" long- it is 16.25" long. That's ok, I made room. The quality in machining was much better than I expected. You'll notice in the pics, you can't even see the seam in the jaws with the vise closed. I tested the jaws and the best I could get was an accuracy of .0015". Horizontally, it was dead on at .0005". They didn't use the stronger acme thread on these vises. It has a more fine deep thread I don't recognize, which is good for torgue, but not as strong as an acme thread. I did bear down on clamping with no bad effects and the vise held the part very well and I was confident with it. The screw has exposed threads with the vise opened over 4.5", so I made a metal plate to cover the screw to help keep chips out and the threads clean. (See pic). The total jaw opening is 6-3/8". The total jaw width is 6-3/8". The Jaw height is 1.75". The base is over 8" wide and 16.25" long. From the bottom of the base to the bottom of the jaws is 2-7/8". Even for it's size on my mill, it will function just fine for certain jobs, but I'm ordering the 4" vise for better reach on smaller work, as my 3" vise is too limited for what i do. I made a spin handle for it, but it operates very smoothly even by turning with the fingers. I am satisfied. A well made vise for the price. It weighs over 50 lbs.

If you can't justify the price of a Kurt Vise based on the Precision of the Parts you're making this is the Vise you want to use.It comes perfectly wrapped to protect it in shipping. The vice comes clean, not soaked in any oil or cosmoline. The threaded Rod is greased.I suggest using different Hardware that came with the vice the hardware is poorly made.Hardware is my only gripe.The rest of the vice is perfect for my needs.

This is a nice vice and works great. I use it regularly and it was well worth the price!!

I bought this vise to use on my HFMini mill. Fits well and is easy to setup. Accuracy on the base seems to be excellent, returns to zero with out much indicating. Haven_ found any workpieces that do not hold solidly.
