I purchased the Vevor Smoke Leak Detector to track down a vacuum leak in a Classic Range Rover inlet manifold. The unit is very simple to use, lightweight and portable. I was shocked by the number of leaks the car had. All easily fixed. This has changed my approach to diagnosing cars. Anything that comes in running rough, surging, etc, makes the smoke leak detector one of the first tools to grab.

I had a P455 large vapor leak. Instead of inspecting the many vapor lines around the vehicle, I used this tester. Included is a mini air bag which I put in the fuel neck. After about 2 minutes smoke came out of the canister vapor solenoid and nowhere else. This meant there were no leaks in the system and the solenoid was bad. Replaced it and no more issues. Used Harbor Freight's smoke oil which works great in the Vevor machine; starts smoking in about 30 seconds.
