My previous one you could adjust temp, duration and change between "c" and "f". I find the duration most useful because it prevents the water boiled to the bare bottom. This new one has a display that shows only on/off. I find the plugs betweeb the fan and the body and the plug to the power to be the weak links un the design. The removal and replugging during refilling eventually loosens them resulting in bad contacts eventually.

It works fine for distilling water, the only use it gets. I turn it off when there is still 100ml or so of water remaining to avoid the calcium deposit on the bottom of the vessel; this makes cleaning much easier. The silicone boot on the jug is a joke, it just falls off when the jug is moved. Out of curiosity I reduced the setting of the variable temperature to 90C to see what happened; nothing, it just boiled the water as usual. I should have bought the cheaper one without this feature.

For months I've been getting terrible stomach pains from the water in my student accommodation. I'd looked at filters but thought the cost of replacing them regularly would be worse. Discovering Vevor's countertop distiller was so synchronous it was as though it meant to be, and now I enjoy pure water every day! It's even better than the bottled water from major supermarkets. What I'm particularly impressed with is that it comes with a little bottle of citric acid crystals that gets rid of the calcium carbonate build up easily. How awesome! I highly recommend it. Now, for those of you who think half the reviews online are paid or by A.I.s, you might be thinking, this review is a bit over the top, mate! Yeah, well, feeling the pain disappear from my stomach within three days of getting 'real' water means I'm so over the moon about this device this review might sound a bit unbelievable. It's tru, tho! Also, having been a wine drinker for 30 years with a sommelier level nose, not having to smell chlorine in my water, among other undefinable odours, is a huge bonus. Highly recommended.

After having difficulty sourcing distilled water I decided to grab one of these units for home use. It has been simple to use once set up correctly, set up was a little trickier than indicated in the manual. Previous reviewers have noted an issue with the outlet angle, I had this too. After my partner noticed and pushed the outlet in further the angle was corrected and there was no more need to “prop” the glass collection jug to achieve a good angle for the water collection. So far I have produced around 40L of water and always have a lot of sediment in the stainless steel pot afterwards, this cleans up very quickly with a 50/50 warm water and vinegar solution and a quick scrub with a nylon bristle brush. Always run the unit in a well ventilated space. This prevents the water condensation issues others have reported on cables. We have our unit in a pantry with an extraction fan turned on while it is running. It usually takes 2-3hrs to produce 4L of distilled water. Overall very happy and it is absolutely paying itself off with being able to collect distilled water on demand. Highly recommend for anyone with needs such as a CPAP or for general cleaning.

I usually drink rain water that is captured in a roof fed tank every time it rains. I decided to purchase the water distiller during a recent drought when I was about to switch over to using municipal reticulated water. I did not want my body to be poisoned by the disinfectants and fluoride that are added to reticulated water. The Vevor Countertop Water Distiller fits nicely into a corner of the bench. The process of distillation is fast enough to provide for the requirements of 3 people. At first I was quite surprised by the amount of sludge that is left in the boiling chamber. I clean it out each time with a wet paper towel. The chemical residues from the manufacturer do have a bad smell, this problem I resolved by soaking all of the components in a bucket of water and sodium bicarbonate for 24 hours.

It works great, there are no more white calcium stains in my glass kettle.

Works well, included jug is huge, doesnt need as much descaling as I thought it would. Primarily use this to feed distilled water into a cpap machine. Cheaper and less of a pain in the butt than hunting down distilled water from the shops.
