Don't have to climb
I really like this unit. It works great without having to climb on top of my roof that has a 12/12 pitch. I did it for the first time this fall (2022) so I have to refine my layout so I don't get as much dust around the room, but it was very little. I am going to hook up the shop vac close to the hole and see how that works, but this thing did the job and it comes with a spare brush which is really nice. I was able to tell a difference using my endoscope.

If you're handy at all get this thing
I didn't even think I needed to do this, I just used a CSL log a couple weeks ago, but the future wife was scared so I shopped around for a chimney sweeping service, $200 to $350 quotes... I didn't want to pay that much, I thought there must be a way to do it myself, then I found this tool, this particular one seemed like the best deal on Amazon (there are dozens to choose from).... Do I got it and I did it myself pretty quickly and you can see the results, I don't really need to say anything here, I should just let the pictures do the talking.... This kit comes with plenty of 3 foot extensions and two brush heads, it works easily, and it seems very durable. Keep the box, it's a pretty nice cardboard box to store everything in....

it works
worked well going up the chimney. made a mess and be prepared to be covered in soot but did a surprisingly well job. Only con is if the drill is on to high sometimes some of the rods came apart.

For emergencies these work well.
The release is a bit awkward to release when coated with soot. Stretch is N/A. Thickness isn’t bad and does allow for good flexibility.

Why hire someone to do the dirty work?
We just bought a house with a wood burning fireplace. Needed a chimney sweep & didn't want to spend the money to have it professionally done. Bought this in hopes that it'd get the job done & it did! Pleased that we took a chance with this. Feels good to do the work ourselves & save money while doing so.

If you have to clean a chimney flue, this is the product to own.
I had chimney flue blockage that I wasn't able to relieve with a brush from above. This product cleared it from the wood stove pipe connection below in no time. Easy to assemble and easy to use. I will no longer have to get up on the roof to do this job.
