What grade of hydraulic oil should be used with this pump? It seems iso 46 is commonly available, is this a good hydraulic oil for this pump?
For this 12V DC hydraulic power unit, it's recommended to use anti-wear hydraulic fluid within the viscosity range of ISO VG 22 to ISO VG 46 (such as AW32 or AW46). ISO VG 46 (AW46) is an excellent and fully suitable choice for this pump, particularly for standard operating conditions.

Can the oil connection point be swapped to the other side of the pump (where the blank plug is)? The hose is too short to reach right over the pump body
Yes, the oil connection can be swapped to the other side where the blank plug is. Both ports are SAE#6 (9/16") with the same thread and size. You can move the hose to the plug side and seal the original port with the plug.
