Will purchase your 250 mm metal detector, but can the circular head that detects the metal be inserted into water (up to about 150 mm deep) to detect metal or will water cause it to malfunction?

As long as it is metal, it can be detected. The detection distance of gold nuggets is related to the area of the metal. Taking five cents as an example, it is about a depth of 20CM. The larger the area, the deeper the detection.
