My Door is only 25mm thick will this fit ? Can the pins be cut down to suit??

Yes it can by entering the code and turning the handle and pressing the y button. to relock it just press the cancel (c) button

Do you have to remove the door knob each time to replace the battery?

No there is a tool that it comes with to remove the battery cover from the inside door handle. if you let the battery die there is a type c port on the outside so you can get in or use the key. i am very happy with the lock. it is well made

What x, y and z key are good for

The “y” button is used to set lock in normally open mode by holding down handle and “y” then your password. to cancel hold down “c” and press the handle. all other key tabs can be used for your code.
