Can I connect this to a motor that requires 380V star/wye connections?

It can turn, but the force will be very small. Only when the motor is changed to a triangle connection can it achieve normal power.

What specifications for a potentiometer would work with this vfd to control rpm for a lathe motor 50hz. 5hp?

Can this unit be controlled via 0-10VDC or 4-20mA current loop, does it have inputs for speed setting via switches and can it be controlled via RS485 serial data port?

0-10V is the simplest, P010=2, P073=6144,for switch, you don't need to change the parameters, X1, X2, X3 three ports control 8 speeds
