I cannot properly articulate how great this gate is. I live on the second floor, and there is a low set window at the top of our stair well. I have found it difficult to find a gate to accommodate this set up at all. Let alone one that prevents the two dogs from pushing it open, the cats just jumping over it, or the humans losing their patience trying to open/close it. This gate extends far enough and has the adjustable mounting pieces, that I was able to mount it to the uneven surface of siding/window frame. It is nice and secure. The opening/locking mechanisms are easy to maneuver. It provided a great sense of relief that I don't have to be constantly worrying about the pets escaping and running the neighborhood. AND prevents the neighborhood critters from coming up and eating our trash.
