I purchased these poles for backyard outdoor lighting and they were sturdy and held the heavier lights. As it states in the info - the poles should be 15-20 ft apart - so for those negative reviews they may have placed them too far apart. Quite satisfied with the poles and the lights look great.

The metal pole seems to be very sturdy the thickness it held up to the high winds California has had this spring season. we have had trees uprooted from the ground and my poles bid not fall over. The installation was very simple, put into the ground, twist the top pole on to the bottom one and that's the installation. We love the way our yard looks with the string lights hanging from the poles. Thank you.

I waited to review this, only because I had no idea how it would hold up to strong winds in the winter. With two snowstorms and various high wind events, I can attest that this is a GREAT product. It was very easy to put around my patio and had my lights strung around the backyard. It looks fantastic and gives me the ability to have people over late into the night. This makes a huge difference at a relatively cheap cost. Should consider these if your one who loves to entertain.

This is now the third time I have purchased these poles for my yard, as I now have 8 total. They are tall, super easy to install (literally twist two pieces together) and they look fantastic. I am majorly impressed because I live in a windy area on the edge of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and these poles literally held up against 100mph winds. My area is also quite rocky, so I haven't been able to push these flush into the ground, and they still hold up to all our wind storms and snow storms. I am seriously impressed with these poles!

I was planning on digging post holes and putting up permanent wood posts. I am really glad that I found these poles. They are everything they said they would be. They were easy to install and look great. I highly recommend them. They are very sturdy!

Read the reviews....decided to take a chance. We are very happy with the product. Only needed one, but decide to get the two pack (I usually regret not getting an extra). These ARE well made and pretty sturdy. My dirt is pretty hard, so at first we tried to push it in, then dug a hole instead, then backfilled it with the dirt. Made a big difference on how sturdy the pole became. Loved that this products opening was extra wide; made it easy to move/adjust light string. Over all, very happy with the product.

This is a Great pole set. To be clear these are a No brainer. I bought 2 of the 2 pole set. (So 4 poles) but these are so sturdy I definitely could have used only 3.

I bought the poles that screw to deck posts. They had all the brackets and screws, and we got them up in no time with a drill. I’m sure 1 person could do it alone. I bought them when they were on sale, and I think they were a good price (at that time) given how much they simplified the project. We have heavy duty light strings with glass Edison bulbs. They seem very sturdy.
