This thing works great and simple to use.

I bought the pedal type hydraulic crimper because I heard the hand held crimper needs a lot of hand strength to operate. The pedal type also keeps your hands free to hold fittings and hoses. I_e used it every day for 2 months now with no issues. Love this crimper.

Crimps that are easier to install than clamp style fittings. Wish there were better instructions regarding the SRB and non-SRB crimp fittings.

The cheap Chinese tin box it came in was not up to the challenge of being bounced halfway around the world and arrived somewhat bent with a blown corner. Nothing a little TLC with some basic sheet metal tools couldn_ fix. The tool itself, while obviously Chinese, acquitted itself admirably. I was able to make excellent crimps on #12 barrier hose and repair the air conditioning on my bus without having to face the nightmare of snaking 42 feet of #12 hose through the undercarriage jungle. Definitely worth the price! Would it stand up to years of daily use? Probably not, but for making up a few custom hoses from time to time I would highly recommend it. Another reviewer said the crimp was uneven. I applied a thin film of lubriplate to the back side of the dies to be sure they didn_ hang up and the resulting crimps looked every bit as good as the factory ones.

I was hesitant if this would be a pro tool or just a piece of junk. It is good quality and works well! I doubt I would count on this for daily use in an AC shop but for occasional use it really makes perfect crimps. It saved me getting the vehicle to a shop that could do the crimps as the lines could not be removed on this 22yo conversion van. Worked first time and seems like it will for the future. I have been a tech for 30 years and used many crimpers over that time, this works as well as any I have used.

used this to install a add on AC unit from old air products on my 72 nova, works really well! and its very convenient.always been skeptical about using hose crimpers, I have always took them to a hose shop for the crimping. will use this in the future and strongly recommend it for the DYI customer.
