My 25 year old 40 amp charge controller died. I needed a replacement to keep one of my solar panel set working. I bought EPEVER 40A MPPT Solar Charge Controller 12V 24V Auto, for all of the features it has. Installation was easy, it excepted my #8 solar wires no problem. The remote readout has plenty of cord to place in a highly visible area. Programing was a little tough it took me a while to fully understand the instructions. The factory settings worked just fine initially but i wanted to fine tune the Controller for my batteries. I like the remote, it shows panel voltage and amps and the MPPT output to my batteries, the panel amps are boosted with MPPT. which is always visible on the Controller's remote.

Very reliable. Ive been using solar for 5years. Only once have I had to change solar controllers and that's just because I needed to increase the controller amperage for a few new panels. My previous one was the 20 amp model. Great product for the price.

The terminal strip was too small for my needs however for most people that did not need to run 4 AWG cable it seems the be a good value.

I just purchased a new RV and needed to add solar charging as I had installed on my old RV. I was a little skeptical when I purchased this Solar Charge controller since I usually try to stay with US built products. I most always get better service and quality from US companies and a better warranty. After looking at the cost differences between the China built product and what I paid for my first solar controller "US product" I figured what the heck! I'll give it a try. And I gotta tell ya, I am impressed with this charger!

I did a review of this product quite a while back, and one of my main concerns was unfounded. When setting up the user defined parameters for using this controller on LiFePO4 batteries, the undesirable FLOAT voltage can be negated by inserting a low value that renders it harmless to the battery. The terminology used in the user manual can be a little confusing, however, once understood, it is a very easy unit to set up and does a great job of charging my Lithium battery. This unit is a re-branded eSmart-3 (iPanda) controller, which has a good reputation among users, for good reason. It is a great performer for the price-point. There is quite a lot of info available online if you google the eSmart-3 unit. I have found it to perform flawlessly over the past 12 months, on both AGM and LiFePO4 batteries, and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Finally a Solar controller that takes all the hard work out of setting up an off grid system. Plug N Play, simple. It works Very well. The menu is a bit fiddly at first but you quickly get used to it.
