A few hundred splices in and it works as advertised

I purchased this and I have to admit I was very pleasantly surprised by the functionality of the device the splice speed is fast and precise. The splices are low loss and I like the ability to switch from auto to manual splicing in memory. This was one of my best buys.

I haven't owned this machine very long so i can't say how durable it is but it was fast and accurate. I was able to get back online quickly. I would recommend this machine for a inexpensive fast repair.

Good equipment.

I have had good luck with this so far. Completed about 248 splices with this in the last couple of months and have had very few problems. Every now and again we would get a run where we had to re-do a splice a couple of times to get it right, but that could be on our cleaver/prep/cable as much as anything. I worry about battery life and electrode availability going forward dealing with an "off" brand piece of equipment, but for the price, this is hard to beat. It paid for itself two or three times over already so the purchase has worked out so far.

This product works so well and fast

I've decided to purchase this fusion slicer for a contract, and so far it has been amazing. Every fusion has been -0.01 db loss, and never had to revisit fusions. I have done several jobs thus far, and it has not failed, even when I've left my fusion slicer and case outside in the vehicle at minus -48 Celsius. The app, via cell phone is amazing, and super convenient. I will purchase a few more.

Ok, here is the low down from someone who has been splicing fiber for 15+ yrs with all types of high dollar splicers. If you just need to splice fiber here and there this is a great splicer. If you need this on huge jobs and will run this thing 40hrs a week buy a Sumitomo or Fujikura. Dislikes- you can only change splicer settings with a smartphone via bluetooth and a downloaded app........annoying and not good on sites where phones and bluetooth are prohibited. Shallow v-grooves in splicer head make fiber placement/alignment in machine a little difficult. Design of fiber guides and lid make it very easy to smash/break fiber if your not paying very close attention when closing the lid. The heater is very fast almost to fast/hot (might be adjustable), causing fiber shrink sleeves to adhere themselves inside the oven making safe removal kind of sketchy. There is no tab that closes the heater door upon insertion or anything that secures the fiber after heater door is closed, making it very easy to unknowingly slide the splice out of the shrink sleeve while multitasking. Clever is kind of cheap and funky to get used to. Its very hard to get the fiber lined up perfectly straight and the catch tray is worthless. Besides those few things the cleaver is precise and reliable just not user friendly. So far I have ran approx. 1000 splices through the machine and only 5 or so had to be re-done, and that might not have been the splicers doing. All and all this splicer splices fiber great and so far has exceeded my expectations...........for a $1000 dollar machine that is. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this machine to anyone who needs a splicer on hand for small jobs here and there.

Works awesome very fast just ordered 2 more of the AI-9 version we run a fiber splicing business and this is our primary single splicer cant beat it for the price after calibration works great.
