almost what I needed
was looking for a light up board for some time. didn't quite fit the size of a movie theater translucent poster but a little cutting off the bottom and was close, cut the words off on the title a little. only comes to hang vertical but with $5 spent on hardware at Walmart, hangs perfect sideways. only complaint was shipping wasn't packaged very well, part of the cover was broken on the ends but concealed well enough by frame when up.

This item was very affordable and perfect for my theater
This great for using for movie posters in my theater. It’s large and the led are bright. The product looks modern and the lights are hidden very well.

The review you've been waiting for
Just the facts folks. Would I buy again, yes, but I'm not sure people understand the compromises. There are 2 types of movie posters, 2-sided and 1-sided. 2-sided is what the theaters have, as the name suggests, the image is printed on both sides (inverted on the back) so when light passes through, it passes through two layers of colors giving an HD look. As expected 2-sided is more expensive and majority of "cheaper" posters are 1-sided. Those don't look so good in lighted panels.Real movie posters are 27x40". These are 24x33". As seen in PICTURE #1 and PICTURE #2, you will need to trim them to fit. Not too difficult, a new razor blade is a must. There's a plexiglass cover for the poster with these. I put some spare cardboard on the table, the poster over that and the plexiglass over that. I used the plexiglass as a template and decided how best to trim to get the best compromise. You can see the finished trim in PICTURE #3.However, these have a frame which are spring hinged, meaning, the plexiglass is larger than the visible area when the frame rails are snapped into their locked position. You loose 5/8" from each side. As you can see in PICTURE #4 and PICTURE #5, some of the text is hidden under the frame. You just have to plan for it and although you trim to the size of the plexiglass, you have to account for an addition 5/8" loss all around. The back of the frames have two main mounting options. You have the typical wall hangers. Easy to do, but you will see them hanging. The other option are pre-drilled holes under the trim hinge. You lift the trim on the hinge and underneath are the pre-drilled holes you can then screw into your surface. The REDSTRIPE is 2-sided tape but I don't recommend trying to "HANG" using tape only. If you use the pre-drilled holes, the frame doesn't like to fully rest flat on the wall (the bottom pops out a bit). Remove some the tape and firmly press the bottom against the wall solves this.In finale, PICTURE #7 is the final product. I c

Great for the price and easy set up
I needed something fast and easy to light up a dark wall in a small Florida townhouse; this lighted movie poster frame worked perfectly. I bought the rights to use a photo online and had it made into a backlit poster at Poster Print Shop online. I cut one side of the poster so it would fit in the frame, removed the protective cover from the plastic and carefully placed the poster in the frame while it was on the wall. The hardest part was getting the frame level so I could screw it to the wall through the holes in the frame. I just ordered a paintable cover for the cord so it will fade into the background. Overall, it looks pretty good and lights up a dark area. The led background lights don't show up near as much in person as they do in the photos.

Great Frame, Needs Instructions (How to Open)
At this price you can't beat it, and easily overlook the lack of light control. With no instructions and no easy answer to find: It is magnetic (sorta) doesn't open like you'd expect. (1) Lay the frame out on the floor, view side/Glass Side facing up (2) You'll open each pane, there are 4 of them, one at a time! Lift each pane up and towards you. You'll get the idea once you get one open, but just use your fingers to snap each pane open from where it curves downward towards the frame itself (not the outside) it will snap right open. If you feel like you've broken something your probably haven't. I had one pane pop out the 3 magnets which are easily placed right back inside.
