great for beginners!! And those who tinker

Great for beginners and hobbyists. There are plenty of youtube videos on how to operate/upgrade these. I do recommend ordering extra belts, or upgrading to a common size immediately. If you want a plug n play machine, THIS ISNT IT!!! However, if you want to understand ALL the ins and outs, to make things better, then this will work perfectly. I'm not a machinist, more of a tinkerer. Ima go for now, I got cool stuffs to make!!

Up in the air on this one so far.

Received this, unpacked it and turned it on. Sounded like the motor was going to blow up the first time I ran it.Customer service has been great! They already sent me another lathe. Hopefully this one will be better. If not, they'll get this one back too.

Great lathe

I bought this lathe to do pen turning and other small projects. So far its been a great machine. It does not come with a thread dial indicator finding accessories and upgrades is fairly easy contact littlemachineshop.com they will help in finding product you need. The pens in the attached photo were made on this machine. The compound rest makes cutting the tapers easy. Wood turning cutters for this lathe well you could adapt some carbide cutters but I made my own with hardened steel on a bench grinder. Keep it clean will last forever

A very dissatisfied consumer with this third party

Seems to work well, need to use it more for solid opinion.

What he did not like about this item is that it did not have a user's manuel and a drill chuck for it and it also did not have a serial number on it, and when we reached out to customer service of the lathe for the chuck and a user's manuel , all we got back from the manufacturer is a video that was made in Chinese and explained in Chinese but we don't understand Chinese and when we looked at the video it was made for a wood lathe not a metal lathe.

Great little machine

I had my reservations about buying this lathe as the quality and accuracy was unknown but I was very pleasantly surprised. after a good tune up adjusting all the gibs and getting everything properly lubricated/aligned it has proven to be a real workhorse more than capable of making accurate parts. rigidity is fine, it will cut mild steel no worries but a spring pass is required but this is true of even much larger lathes. I have no issues recommending this lathe but be prepared to spend a bit of extra money on upgrading the tool holder and metal gears if you plan on doing a lot of thread cutting.

Great Little Lathe

I haven't used it yet, but it looks great. I have allot of experience with machining. With that and a very nice video review of an identical machine, I believe that I can realistically expect that it will satisfy my modest needs. VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05vUCdzhoe4 With full knowledge however I can say that the packaging is the best i have ever seen. The delivery driver set it down out of the truck on its end. Even though the UP orientation for the parcel was clearly marked. A barbecue grill delivered by the same company was also clearly marked and delivered also on end. That grill was pretty dinged up out of the box. But the lathe would have been fine any way they left it. It was bolted to the bottom of a surprizingly sturdy box, considering that it was constructed of 1/4" plywood. But the fasteners were amazing. It was astually quite a job just getting the thing opened. That's it. That's my review.

8x14 mini lathe

It was shipped faster then original date. Was it perfect, well no, had to clean out some threads that had metal chips in them. Probably have four hours working on projects and it has worked very good. Would like to order some additional items for it but not sure how.
