I have a very expensive name brand tumbler as well as a vibratory tumbler that I use for various pieces of jewelry I make. I saw this tumbler in use at a gem show and loved how it worked.With my $150 tumbler, getting it to not leak is a chore and just getting the lid on and off is a PITA. It also takes about an hour to properly tumble and burnish a silver bracelet.Due to the speed and the reversibility of this tumbler, it takes about 10 minutes to get the same level of polish, which saves me time and electricity. The lid is very secure and I haven't had a problem with it leaking at all.As for durability, time will tell. It came with an extra drive belt and an additional o-ring for the lid, so if one of those should break it should be fine.Overall, I'm very impressed with this tumbler and hope to have many years of good use from it.

This tumbler is a huge upgrade from the rubber barrel tumbler I had before. I am really, really happy with it.The tumbler was leaking water at first, which was disappointing, but I easily fixed it by tightening the pegs that hold the stick that holds the lid (by using the stick).Another problem I had was that it was pelting my jewelry too hard, leaving tiny indentations on the items. I was using 1 lbs of steel shot and the metal was just falling on the jewelry hitting it hard. That problem was fixed by using 3 lbs of steel shot instead of 1 lb and tumbling on the lowest speed setting.What I really like about this tumbler is that the lid is so easy to open up. The shot doesn't get stuck under the lid. Also, I like the setting for changing the rotation direction every minute or so.I cannot comment on the steel shot that the tumbler came with (about 1 lb of shot), as I used my own.I find the noise level normal.Overall I am very happy with the tumbler and recommend it for tumbling jewelry.

Everything seems to be working great ive got about 40 hours on it. If it holds up ,I plan on purchasing the larger one.It arrived ingood condition.....Well .I'm 3 months into this tumbler ,it's a keeper,fixing to get the 5 kilo,I use mine to make BP...so i give it. 5 stars

I_e changed this to. 5 star rating, as I_e been using this for almost a year now. This is a great tumbler for the price and has exceeded my expectations. I have figured out how to stop it from leaking, it was user error and you have to be really careful. The timer does work. It_ worth the money.I will reserve rating this five stars until I have used this more than 3 times. .....so far, it's a great tumbler. It really does a good job of giving my silver jewelry a high shine in a short time. A couple of things to note.1. The tumbling media that comes with the unit creates a lot of rust. I tumbled the shot alone at least four times and could not get rid of the rust, so I am not using it.2. The top does not seem to close enough to get a good seal and tends to leak a little at times (maybe I'm not doing this right)3. I am not sure what the proper operation is. When i first got this it tumbled in one direction, then paused for a second, and then tumbled in the other direction. After the first use, it began to tumble only in one direction continually. When I used it the third time, it resumed tumbling in two directions....puzzling.4. The timer doesn't seem to work.....All of this being said, I am pretty happy with this tumbler, let's see how long it lasts. So far the results I get with this tumbler are quicker and come out shinier than my magnetic tumblers Lorotone tumbler and the Durabull (horrible tumbler) that I've had in the past.
