Better than sliced bread... :)
Purchased for my mechanic/friend to add to his shop and make my new struts go easier for install. He’s happy I’m happy and it made the job safer and much quicker. A win-win.

Used this Strut Spring compressor for the first time this weekend and I was impressed. It made the changing of the springs effortless and safe. The strut fits in the holder so so. The centre bolt that holds the spring is accessible, but the 2 other bolts on the strut, make it so you need to rotate the strut to try and fit one or all of them under the black horseshoe shaped piece. Even though the spring sat somewhat level in the holders and I secured the chain around the spring and tool in case of it slipping out. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone looking for a safe way to change springs on a strut.

Seems to work.. almost
Got this spring compressor in 3 days.. pretty decent ship time. All looked good until I started trying to COMPRESS a spring. Everything worked EXCEPT the jack. It would compress the spring 'some', but would quickly run out of 'poop. It would compress, but the spring would then force the jack cylinder back down and would compress no further. I checked the fluid and found it low - filled it up, but had the same problem. It would not compress the spring nearly far enough to do the job. I finally tried pumping the foot pedal really FAST and manged to get the spring barely compressed enough to get it loose. Not sure how I'm going to get it back on though. The jack doesn't seem to be up to the task.

Used it on some Subaru struts. Held and compressed spring well, felt secure, but not very adjustable. Took some wrestling to get spring into position.
