I am submitting this review of my new (VEVOR Preheating Oven T8280 1600W Infrared Preheating Station Hot Plate PCB Preheater 280x270MM) before I have had a chance to use it. The reason that I have not used it, is for safety reasons. The power cable that came with it is underrated. The power cable (277 IEC 53(RVV) 300/500V 3x1mm^2) is not designed to handle the 15 amps of this device. I will update this review once I get my replacement power cable and have used the preheater. I just wanted to get this review uploaded so that others are aware before purchasing and using the supplied underrated power cable.

Great product. Works well and meets the requirements needed to work on micro soldiering.

I am proficient at hand soldering, but am learning to use hot air. Learning the temperatures for my application took a few tries, but it cut my soldering time of a QFN component down more than half of the time. This is a must if you have to solder medium volume runs.

I've been using this for about a month to good satisfaction so far. I checked the temperature independently with an Omega thermocouple meter and found a +/- of 5~10 degrees F. Only three complaints, only one of which affect usability: (1) the unit is quite noisy while in operation especially after reaching and while maintaining set temperature, (2) the clear plastic overlay covering the digital display is difficult to read requiring me to turn off my bench light every time I want to check progress or change a setting, (3) the PCB support arms can only be tightened into place in the front and if they move on the back side the board can fall off onto the heating element too easily. This needs to be corrected first before considering a 5-star rating.

Firstly, delivery was on time even though it had to come from Sydney to Perth and despite any COVID restrictions. I mainly bought it for the rework station and it is easy to use. The heat is almost instantaneous.

Works good, fan is a little noises, power cord is a fire hazard. They cord included with the machine hot too hot to touch after being run for 15 minutes.

Very happy with the product. Temperature control is accurate and heats up very quickly. Allows you to remove large SMD ICs without damaging them.
