Great quality
I am amazed that this vise is built so heavy. Works great.

For my modest needs, this vice does everything I could have asked for. I am not building a rocket ship so I am not looking for super duper tolerances. It does exactly what I want it to do.

Quality product, but it's huge
Really nice product, but honestly, a bit over-sized for my small workshop.

Most appropriate size for me!
I bought the 6 inch first, but this 3 inch was a much better fit for my little shop equipment.

Impressively well made for the price
I ordered this milling machine vise base spec and reviews. I was uncertain between 5\" and 6\" vise because my milling table is 8” x 28” so I decided to order 6\" and happy with my decision. I’m certainly not disappointed by the quality of the machining surface and precision of this vise. Of course there better quality vise out there but as beginners it fit my budget. My only constructive comment is the hardware ( t-slot bolt ) included could be better an oiler could be installed already and the dimensions of the handle clearly not accurate. P.s. I didn’t take the to colour match or strip and clear but it will be done.

Good vise!
Good vise, mounted on a PM25 mill. Fit of everything was good, it fits the mill well. You will need to de burr everything, edges are sharp! And I had to mill the nut side of the mounting slots. They are cast and in machined. The keys fit well and ran within .001" (keys on the bottom to the t-slot with the keys milled to fit my 12mm t - slots) I took .002 off the t-slot side and indicated it in.

Astonishingly not bad for $100
I have a Kurt DX6 That is my primary vise on my bridgeport but I needed to steal it to use for a setup on my CNC that has Saunders vises that were just too small for what I needed. After the CNC was setup and running I ended up needing to run a job on the bridgeport but had no vise. So I took a chance on this one for $100. You dont get much for $100 these days and I was expecting garbage. I'll start out by saying this is no Kurt... But... its astonishingly not bad. It did arrive with sharp edges like other reviewers said, and I had to file and stone it right out of the box. The screw needed some oil and the whole thing just needed to be cleaned up a little bit. Once that was done I mounted it on the mill and threw up my indicator. Tapped it around and got the vise within .001\" X Y and Z. Jaws come together perfect and you can put some weight on the vise handle to clamp something down. Does what it needs to do and does it pretty well. The only thing I dont like is that the mounting slots are about .820\" wide, which makes it awkward to mount with 1/2\" studs but still doable with some heavy washers. All in all, like I said, astonishingly not bad for $100.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality, the jaws hold their spot and don't wiggle loose like my other less expensive overseas one

Worth the money.
Nice vice, tight tolerances. The 4" vise was a bit overkill for my Sieg SX2 mini mill, should have gotten the 3".

pretty happy with this
i'm a DIY guy but fairly dedicated and needed a vise for my mill. this does not disappoint. i got the 6\" for my 8x39\" mill. arrived in good shape but be aware - it's a heavy beast. probably what most impressed me was how flush the faces were from the box. they were quite precise. on a well trammed mill i was able to get this vise to about 2/10000\" across its face. not bad for a home shop. for grins i also put it on my granite reference plate - no light under the vise. also happy with parallel - the faces are nicely parallel and when seating vise to bed of mill i checked both faces in a few different positions, top and bottom. no movement on the gauge. movement a teeny bit rough so down one star for that. is it a $1200 Kurt? no. is it great for the price? you bet it is. would i buy another? yes i would. she's worth a look.
