Can the spindle speed be controlled using a PMW signal?
Yes, you can use 0~5V or 0~10V PWM signal to control the frequency converter and then control the spindle speed. That is to say, the highest voltage of the pwm signal is 10 volts, or the highest voltage is 15 volts.

Hello, I was using a similar VFD on my lathe turning a heavy object . When I stopped the lathe the VFD deceleration function didn't have protection so the voltage generated by the motor feeding back into the VFD caused an over voltage short circuit in the VFD rendering it useless. Do your VFD's have this over beck fed over voltage protection? Or is it safer to choose no deceleration braking in the program parameters to completely safeguard the VFD as I don't really need braked deceleration.
Yes, our VFD can stop freely. Even if the motor enters the power generation state when decelerating, the VFD will not be burned out because the VFD has overvoltage protection.

Can I wire an external braking resistor to this VFD Single Phase 240v in 2.2kw 3 phase out.
It has no braking resistor, and whether it can stop immediately depends on the power of your motor and the type of load it carries.

How is motor speed varied manually? Many other VFD's have a potentiometer knob to achieve this but appears absent here.
The speed can be changed through the buttons on the panel and the external potentiometer.

Can this be connected to a 3 phase 4 wire 380v hoist motor?
You need to change the motor of the crane to 3-phase 220, three-phase 380 is not allowed. Moreover, the output of the inverter is three-phase three-wire, not three-phase four-wire, because the motor only needs three-phase three-wire. However, if your controller has additional electrical equipment, it cannot be used and requires certain modifications.
